“I’m most excited about how companies, like mine, Ameris, are committed to building better and more efficiently.”
Jaime Jacobs joined the Ameris team in September of this year and has hit the ground running as our new VP of Client Relations. As a seasoned professional in the construction industry, she brings a wealth of experience in Leadership for Affordable Housing and Construction Management. We are excited to introduce her as an invaluable part of the team!
Q: What is your professional background? Give us some career highlights.
A: A 25-year career in construction with Certifications in both Construction Management and Leadership in Affordable Housing. I’ve worked for and with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, economic development, and consider my journey thus far as an organic one.
Q: What assets and skills do you have that make you good at what you do?
A: I believe my best asset is that I build trust with people, all people. I care, not just about a project, but everything and everyone that is involved. I follow thru, I check in. Once you’re in my life, you know I will be there for you as nothing less than your advocate.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job? What is the most fulfilling?
A: Favorite part of my job? People!
The most fulfilling part of my career now is putting roofs over as many heads as possible. Creating Equitable Housing/Affordable Housing awareness. Advocating for my clients nationwide, advocating for my company, and being truly supported and entrusted to build better.
Q: What impact do you strive to leave in your role?
A: I hope my impact will be of one of caring, perseverance, loyalty, commitment, and optimistic energy that follows me wherever I go.
Q: What could we find you doing when you’re not working?
A: I have two beautiful 14-year-old daughters who have very separate, active lives. I giggle writing this, but when I’m not working, I’m basically my girls’ Uber driver for their social calendar and cheerleader for their sporting events. And I love it!
Q: What industry trends are you most excited about for the upcoming year?
A: I’m optimistic that this crazy wave of material cost fluctuations will stabilize a bit, and that we can move away from the “wood frame for all” world and embrace steel for its cost and time frame efficiencies. I’m excited for the amount of housing units AZ and other states are committed to building. But I’m most excited about how companies, like mine, Ameris, is committed to building better and more efficiently.
